Armed forces have reportedly entered Rostov Oblast, a region located in western Russia. At 7:30 am local time, the head of the Wagner private military company, Prigozhin, announced that the Wagner armed forces have gained control over military facilities in Rostov, including the airport. Following this, Russian President Putin delivered a televised speech, stating that decisive measures will be taken to restore order in Rostov. On the same day, the Chinese Embassy in Russia stated that the situation in the capital city remains calm, while closely monitoring the developments in Rostov. Video footage has emerged showing several armed individuals in uniforms, armed with guns and operating tanks, surrounding the local Ministry of Internal Affairs building. Chinese citizens in Rostov have informed reporters that although no clashes have occurred so far, most public facilities, such as shopping malls, have been closed, and some schools require students to submit a disclaimer before leaving their premises.
