The Baltic Dry Index for the Baltic Sea dry bulk cargo rose to a three-month high on Wednesday due to an increase in rates for Capesize and Panamax vessels. The Baltic Dry Index increased by 4 points or 0.4% to 1020 points, the highest level since March 1. The Capesize vessel rate index rose by 4 points to 1387 points, the highest level in three months. The average daily profit for Capesize vessels increased by $33 to $11,503. The Panamax vessel rate index rose by 31 points or 2.8% to 1139 points, while the average daily profit for Panamax vessels increased by $279 to $10,252. However, the Supramax vessel rate index fell by 15 points or 2% to 766 points.
